Privacy policy

  1. Scope

Endeavor Italia (“we”, “us”, “our”), organizer of the Endeavor Digital Event (“Digital Event”, “Event”), is committed to protecting your personal information. We invite you to read this Privacy Policy, which explains the types of information collected and created in connection with the Event, how and why we use such information, who we share it with and your legal rights.

 

Unless indicated otherwise, this Privacy Policy relates to our use of any personal information we collect or use in relation to the following services (collectively, the “Services”):

  • the Digital Event and the related pre-events;
  • the Digital Event landing page, website, and their related subdomains including those pertaining to registration for attendance at the Event;
  • online surveys relating to the Digital Event, such as Google Forms issued by Endeavor and intended to collect attendees’ preferences regarding their participation. Those include their potential choices related to the participation in workshops, pitch sessions, and pre-events.

 

Personal information processed in connection with the Services is controlled by Endeavor Italia, an Italian Nonprofit organization, with registered office in Via Filippo Sassetti 32, 20124 Milano,Italy.

  1. Information we collect

When we provide the Services, we collect and receive information in several different ways. In many cases, you choose what information to provide, although some information is required for us to provide you the Services.

 

2.1 Directly from you, or approved third parties.

We collect a variety of information from you when you provide it to us directly, when we request it from you, or when you give us permission to get it from a third-party source.

  • Attendee registration information. When you register to attend the Event, you must provide us with basic information such as name, surname, email address, company of belonging.
  • Attendee preferences: these include the Google Forms an attendee may want to complete in order to personalize his/her participation to the event. The forms allow participants to submit a candidacy as to participate to workshops and pitch sessions taking place during the Digital Event and/or the webinar pre-events taking place in the weeks preceding the main event. For these purposes, Endeavor requests a series of basic information regarding attendees’ choices (no personal information are requested, apart from their email address) and, in case an attendee is willing to submit a candidacy for a pitch session, some basic, non-sensible information regarding the corresponding companies. These latter include: company name; industry; one-line pitch.
  • Digital Event survey responses. We may ask you to participate in optional surveys regarding your experience at the Digital Event in order to help us improve the event and for related commercial purposes.

 

2.2 From your browser or device.

We automatically collect certain information from your browser or device when you use certain Services or read a message from us.

For example, we collect:

  • data regarding the device you are using, such as its unique identifier and operating system; logs will be recorded by our servers based on the information sent from your app or browser;
  • information automatically as you navigate through the site using cookies and other tracking technologies. (Information collected automatically may include usage details, email address, IP addresses, and information collected through cookies and other tracking technologies).

 

Information may be recorded by cookies and similar technologies when you use the Services. Please review our cookie policy for further detail on how we use cookies and similar technologies on our Services and how to opt out of these.

  1. How we use your information

We use your information in order to provide, operate, improve, understand, customize, support, and market our Services, including:

 

3.1 Providing and improving the requested Services.

We use your personal information as necessary to run the Digital Event, such as to register attendees, facilitate information sharing with partners with whom you have consented for us to share information.

 

3.2 Communicating with you.

We use your personal information to contact you regarding your registration to attend, volunteer or speak at a Digital Event, to notify you of any changes to our policies and practices, and to respond to any requests or inquiries you may submit to us. By registering to the Digital Event you accept subscribing to Endeavor Italy’s newsletter, we will use your information as described below. We may collect information from these communications to improve our Services and for the training and development of our staff.

 

3.3 Marketing.

If you opt-in to receiving marketing communications from us by registering to the Event, we will use your personal information for outreach and marketing, such as to send you information about our potential future Digital Events and to exhibit attending companies. You can opt-out of these communications by using the unsubscribe links in our communications. We may also use your information in order to market potential future Digital Events.

 

3.4 Combining your data for personalised direct marketing.

To help us form a better, overall understanding of you as a customer, we combine your personal data gathered across our cookies, form submissions, chat functionality on our websites, for example when you request to receive email communications from us. In order to do this we also combine the data that we collect directly from you with data that we obtain from third parties to whom you have given your consent to pass that data onto us.

  1. Legal bases for processing your information

Pursuant to Article 6 of GDPR 679/16, we rely on a number of bases to lawfully process your personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. We process your personal information:

  • when necessary to perform the activities related to our Digital Event and the corresponding pre-events as outlined within this Privacy Policy or to provide you with the Services;
  • where you have consented to the processing, which you may revoke at any time;
  • when necessary for us to comply with a legal obligation, a court order, or to exercise and defend legal claims;
  • when necessary to protect your vital interests, or those of others, such as in the case of an emergency;
  • where you have made the information manifestly public;
  • where necessary in the public interest; and
  • where necessary for the purposes of our, your, or a third party’s legitimate interests, such as those of partners or other attendees or volunteers.
  1. Our legitimate interests

As indicated above, in certain cases we use your information where necessary to pursue our, your and others’ legitimate interests, including where necessary to:

  • Keep the Services safe and secure. We use your information as it is necessary to pursue our legitimate interests, or those of our attendees, our volunteers or our partners in ensuring the Digital Event is a safe and secure event, such as enforcing this Privacy Policy. We also act in the legitimate interests of these parties with respect to our Digital Event website and other Services, such as by implementing and enhancing security measures and protections and protecting against fraud, spam and abuse.
  • Provide, develop and improve the Services. We process your information as necessary to pursue our legitimate interests in improving the Digital Event and our other Services, such as our Digital Event website. For example, we use your information in order to conduct access control and enforce security at the Digital Event. We also use your information to conduct data analysis and analytics across our Services. In certain cases, and where you have not objected, we may record sales and other calls to you for our business interests in the training and development of our staff.
  • Market the Services. We process your information in accordance with our legitimate interests of marketing the Digital Event and the Services to you. For example, in case you are an entrepreneur willing to candidate your company for a pitching session, and you get accepted, we may use your information to market potential future Digital Events and to exhibit attending companies.   • Provide seamless Services with Endeavor Global and/or affiliates. We may share personal information amongst our Endeavor Global office, other Endeavor offices, affiliates for internal business purposes and to provide you with the Services in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If we share your information within any of the actors outlined above we will ensure that your information continues to be used only in accordance with this Privacy Policy and your expressed choices, and in accordance with applicable law.
  1. Sharing with third parties

We share information with attendees, service providers, affiliates, partners, and other third parties where it is necessary to perform the Digital Event as described within this Privacy Policy, to provide the Services, and for other purposes described in the Privacy Policy.

 

6.1 Marketing.

In order to further our legitimate interests in marketing the Services, we rely on third-party marketing platforms and service providers to assist us and perform certain marketing services for us.

 

6.2 Third party service providers.

We may share your personal information to help us operate, provide, improve, understand, customize, support, and market our Services. These third parties provide us with services including for customer support, data storage and website hosting, ticketing and payments processing, legal advice and compliance, and marketing and data analysis. These third parties are contractually required to use it only to provide their service to us, and prohibited from using it for their own purposes.

 

6.3 Business reorganisation.

In instances where Endeavor Italy, the Endeavor Global office, other Endeavor offices and/or its affiliates are subject to a reorganization, such as a merger or acquisition of some or all of its assets, we may, in accordance with our legitimate interests, need to share information in the course of the transaction. In such circumstances, your information may be disclosed, where permitted by applicable law, in connection with such corporate restructuring, sale, or assignment of assets, merger, or other changes of control or financial status of  Endeavor Italy, the Endeavor Global office, other Endeavor offices and/or its affiliates.

 

6.4 Legal and safety reasons.

We may retain, preserve, or share your personal information if we have a good-faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to (a) respond, based on applicable law, to a legal request (such as, a subpoena, search warrant, court order, or other requests from government or law enforcement); (b) detect, investigate, prevent, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; (c) protect our rights, property, or safety; (d) enforce this Privacy Policy or any other agreements we have with you; or (e) prevent physical injury or other harm to any person or entity, including yourself and members of the general public.

 

6.5 Aggregated information.

We may also share aggregated or de-identified information, such as counts of attendee job titles or their affiliated companies, with companies we do business with, including our advertisers, partners as well as other organizational members.

  1. Data retention

We will retain your personal information for as long as is necessary, up to a period of three years after such information is collected, to achieve the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, such as to provide you with the Services. In case we record one or more Event sessions, under Article 5 of GDPR 679/16, in the application of the principles of lawfulness, purpose limitation, and data minimization, the period for which Your personal data are stored is limited to a time span not to exceed the achievement of the purposes for which data is collected, and by no means exceeding the time prescribed for by the applicable legislation.

  1. Data transfers

As a global organization, we access and transfer information around the world. If you are based in the EU, this means that we access and transfer your personal information outside the EU, including in and to the United States. The privacy protections and the rights of authorities to access your personal information in some of these countries may not be the same as in your home country. We transfer your personal information in accordance with law, and take steps to ensure that your information is appropriately protected.

 

In particular, where we transfer information to countries that are not viewed as providing adequate protections, we generally rely on an approved mechanism known as the “standard contractual clauses” to protect the information transferred. These are template contracts published by the European Commission containing approved commitments to protect the privacy and security of the information transferred.   1. Your rights

You have a number of rights in relation to your information that we process. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. We describe these rights below.

 

9.1 Access and Porting.

You can access much of the information you shared with us by confirming to get confirmation emails when completing our Google Forms, related to the Digital Event. Where legally required, we will provide your information in an easily accessible format and assist in transferring some of this information to third parties.

 

9.2 Rectify, Restrict, Delete.

In compliance with Article 21 GDPR 679/16, You can amend, update and delete some of your information by writing to informazioni@endeavor.org. If you want us to amend, update or delete other information, please contact us.

 

9.3 Object.

Where we process your information based on the legitimate interests described above, or in the public interest, you can object to the processing in certain circumstances. We will generally stop processing your information unless we have compelling grounds to continue processing, such as where needed for legal reasons. Where we use your information for direct marketing, as in the case of Endeavor Italy newsletters, you can always object using the unsubscribe link in such communications, changing your profile settings or by contacting us. When we inform you that we will record a call to you, we will provide you with the opportunity to object to such recording.

 

9.4 Revoke consent.

If we have specifically asked for your consent to use your information, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. For example, if we ask for your consent for direct advertising purposes, you can revoke your consent using the unsubscribe link in such communications, changing your profile settings or by contacting us.

 

9.5 Complain.

If you wish to raise a concern about our use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local supervisory authority or by contacting Endeavor’s Legal Representative.

 

  1. Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. We strive to use appropriate technical and organizational skills to protect your personal information. Despite these measures, the Internet is not a fully secure environment and we cannot guarantee that your personal information won’t be intercepted or improperly accessed.

  1. Children

Registration to the Site is permitted only to adults, or to minors over the age of 16: pursuant to Article 8 of the Regulations, a minor, who is over 16, may express consent to the processing of personal data in relation to the offer of services provided by the Company on the Website.

Always based on the provisions of Article 8 of the Regulations, the processing of personal data of minors under the age of sixteen can be based on a valid consent given by the minor only on the condition that he/she has been authorized by his/her parental guardians to provide such consent or provided that consent was given directly by the parental guardian themselves. Unauthorized registration of under 16 users is not allowed. Upon registering with the Site, the Data Subject confirms that he/she possesses the aforementioned age requirements.

  1. How can you stop the use of Personal data belonging to you for direct advertising?

There are several ways you can stop direct marketing communications from us:

  • Click the ‘unsubscribe’ link in any email communication that we send you. We will then stop any further emails.

Please note that you may continue to receive communications for a short period after changing your preferences while our systems are fully updated.

L’Utente si assume la responsabilità dei Dati Personali di terzi pubblicati o condivisi mediante questa Applicazione e garantisce di avere il diritto di comunicarli o diffonderli, liberando il Titolare da qualsiasi responsabilità verso terzi.

Il Titolare tratta i Dati Personali degli Utenti adottando le opportune misure di sicurezza volte ad impedire l’accesso, la divulgazione, la modifica o la distruzione non autorizzate dei Dati Personali.

Il trattamento viene effettuato mediante strumenti informatici e/o telematici, con modalità organizzative e con logiche strettamente correlate alle finalità indicate. Oltre al Titolare, in alcuni casi, potrebbero avere accesso ai Dati categorie di incaricati coinvolti nell’organizzazione del sito (personale amministrativo, commerciale, marketing, legali, amministratori di sistema) ovvero soggetti esterni (come fornitori di servizi tecnici terzi, corrieri postali, hosting provider, società informatiche, agenzie di comunicazione) nominati anche, se necessario, Responsabili del Trattamento da parte del Titolare.     Con la registrazione alla mailing list o alla newsletter, l’indirizzo email dell’Utente viene automaticamente inserito in una lista di contatti a cui potranno essere trasmessi messaggi email contenenti informazioni, anche di natura commerciale e promozionale, relative a questa Applicazione. L’indirizzo email dell’Utente potrebbe anche essere aggiunto a questa lista come risultato della registrazione a questa Applicazione o dopo aver effettuato un acquisto.

  • I servizi contenuti nella presente sezione permettono al Titolare del Trattamento di monitorare e analizzare i dati di traffico e servono a tener traccia del comportamento dell’Utente.

    Google Analytics è un servizio di analisi web fornito da Google Inc. (“Google”). Google utilizza i Dati Personali raccolti allo scopo di tracciare ed esaminare l’utilizzo di questa Applicazione, compilare report e condividerli con gli altri servizi sviluppati da Google.

Difesa in giudizio

Log di sistema e manutenzione

Per necessità legate al funzionamento ed alla manutenzione, questa Applicazione e gli eventuali servizi terzi da essa utilizzati potrebbero raccogliere Log di sistema, ossia file che registrano le interazioni e che possono contenere anche Dati Personali, quali l’indirizzo IP Utente.

Esercizio dei diritti da parte degli Utenti

I soggetti cui si riferiscono i Dati Personali hanno il diritto in qualunque momento di ottenere la conferma dell’esistenza o meno degli stessi presso il Titolare del Trattamento, di conoscerne il contenuto e l’origine, di verificarne l’esattezza o chiederne l’integrazione, la cancellazione, l’aggiornamento, la rettifica, la trasformazione in forma anonima o il blocco dei Dati Personali trattati in violazione di legge, nonché di opporsi in ogni caso, per motivi legittimi, al loro trattamento. Le richieste vanno rivolte al Titolare del Trattamento.

Questa Applicazione non supporta le richieste “Do Not Track”.
Per conoscere se gli eventuali servizi di terze parti utilizzati le supportano, l’Utente è invitato a consultare le rispettive privacy policy.

Modifiche a questa privacy policy

Il Titolare del Trattamento si riserva il diritto di apportare modifiche alla presente privacy policy in qualunque momento dandone pubblicità agli Utenti su questa pagina. Nel caso di mancata accettazione delle modifiche apportate alla presente privacy policy, l’Utente è tenuto a cessare l’utilizzo di questa Applicazione e può richiedere al Titolare del Trattamento di rimuovere i propri Dati Personali. Salvo quanto diversamente specificato, la precedente privacy policy continuerà ad applicarsi ai Dati Personali sino a quel momento raccolti.
